At Newsy I assist in the day to day operations in the newsroom. Some of my responsbilities include script editing, video editing, content/student mangement, and developing innovative solutions. We are focused on delivering short news segments for “on the go” news consumers. Newsy is the global leader in mobile video news. You can download apps for the iPhone, iPad, Android, Intel Notebook, and Blackberry – with more on the way!

High Res Posters

High Res Posters is a small business I hope to launch within the next few months. High Res’ goal is to create an online custom digital poster store where people can purchase high resolution poster images for a cheap price. I’m currently creating the website and initial artwork for the site. Customers will have the ability to submit requests for posters, download stock images, and receive on-demand printing.

The video sharing platform allows independent producers to get their work seen, and even earn money in the process. I believe the concept would be an excellent new media start-up. Organized in 1988 to promote positive economic expansion in Columbia and Boone County, REDI is a nonprofit, public/private partnership that works to provide increased economic opportunities for the area while maintaining a high quality of life. For my convergence capstone, my group and I developed a communication plan for REDI that will assist them when they launch their new website.
